FOKKER D.VIII
The Fokker D.VIII was a German fighter monoplane used in World War I and in the post-war period mainly by the Polish Army Air Force. With a wingspan of 8.37 m and powered by an Oberusel Ur.II or Goebel Goe III rotary engine, it reached a top speed of 200 km/h. Despite the problems with the quality of the wing production, a total of 289 units were produced, which also appeared in the armament of the armies after the end of the war.
A replica of the Fokker D.VIII built by father and son Bald with a modified Subaru EA-81 engine is now an exhibit at the Metoděj Vlacha Museum. An aircraft that was ahead of its time with its monoplane concept.
