Morane Saulnier BB
A real legend of the First World War is the French biplane Morane Saulnier BB, which will be presented at LEGENDY NEBES. Originally an observation aircraft served in the French Air Force and in the British Royal Flying Corps, where it made a much more significant contribution to the history of world aviation. There it also operated as a fighter aircraft, with the addition of a Lewis machine gun mounted on the fuselage near the rear observer or on the canopy of the upper wing. However, it was always intended to be operated by an observer.
The first prototype took to the skies as early as 1915, and a total of 90 were produced. Interestingly, they also served in the air force of Tsarist Russia. The French Army Air Force never really used them. Most of the units produced have the Le Rhône 9C engine with 80 hp.
A very successful replica of this beautiful machine will be presented at LEGENDY NEBES. The piece comes from the Metoděj Vlach Aviation Museum in Mladá Boleslav. The replica was made by Mr. Petr Tax.
